European Citizenship by Investment
Cyprus is the most expensive citizenship available for sale today but offers very fast processing times and passport turnover, offering the fastest naturalization ever in just 57 days. Currently at €2 million today with the prospect of going up to €2.5 million from mid-May, 2019, this is literally the last call for individuals who wish to secure this passport for them and their families. You can obtain Cyprus citizenship with an investment of €2 million in real estate, government bonds, a bank deposit or investment in a new company.
Cyprus citizenship is indeed more expensive than the other program options but if you consider that this is purely an investment where you would see a return rather than a donation, it makes this seven-figure investment totally worth it. Unlike Cyprus, the Maltese Citizenship by Investment involves a government donation in addition to the usual government fees that is included in other programs. The donation is €650,000 for the main applicant, plus €25,000 for a spouse and each minor child. Older children up to 26 years old and dependent parents above 55 years old may be added for an additional €50,000 fee per person.
In addition to the donation, this program also requires a €150,000 investment in Maltese government bonds for five-year term. Finally, there must be an investment in Real Estate up to the amount of €350,000 or more, or minimum yearly rental €16,000 for 5 years.
To become Moldovan under this brand new program, you must either donate €100,000 plus pay a government fee, or invest €250,000 in approved real estate.
Moldovan citizenship is somewhat unique among competitor programs in that it is at the moment an EU member candidate and does not offer visa-free travel to the United Kingdom or Ireland but it does offer visa-free travel to Europe’s Schengen Area and to Russia.
Caribbean Citizenship by Investment
Now, moving out of Europe and into the Caribbean. The Caribbean which is exotic in nature is home to five popular citizenship programs.
St. Kitts and Nevis being the oldest of such known programs in the world. You can either invest or donate money to the government, but you can be sure that simply donating the money will make the process easier. The donation now starts at $150,000 and the real estate investment starts from $200,000 and up.
The quality of Dominica passport has improved significantly over the last couple of years, it is now one of the lowest priced passports in the world starting from $100,000 for Donation and $200,000 if you are investing in Real Estate. If you’re seeking a “budget passport” in the fastest time possible, Dominica is a must!
Grenada offers a unique passport that provides access to the EU, UK, Russia, China, and even priority investor access to the United States
Grenada’s most interesting features are visa-free access to Russia and China, as well as being the only Caribbean CBI to be part of the United States E-2 treaty program. It offers such a simplified procedure to live as an Investor in the US, and this makes the Grenadian Passport very attractive to many people.
Grenada has two options just like the other countries in the Caribbean; allowing the applicant to choose between donation starting from $150,000 and Real Estate from $220,000 (newly reduced from $350,000).
Antigua and Barbuda joined the recent price wars, slashing its price to match Dominica and St. Lucia, but adding an additional processing fee. The interesting angle, however, is that a family of four can apply for the same price as a single applicant, making it the cheapest option for families at $100,000
St. Lucia citizenship by investment interestingly allows for three routes; either through donation, invest in real estate or start a business. If you choose the donation route, the amount starts at just $100,000 just like Dominica and Antigua.
The programs here are options available to pretty much everybody, there are instances where certain nationalities are subject to additional and vigorous screening.
If you want a nearly 100% guarantee of getting citizenship in 4-12 months, the programs above are worth considering!
